Howdy Everybody!I've been getting a lot of emails asking about my next concert....Well...I've had a few problems with my hands as a result of complications of carpal tunnel surgery I had on both hands a couple of years ago. I was afraid I would have to have surgery again but I am currently being treated with cortisone and steroids and my doctor is fairly hopeful that this will take care of the problem. As it is right now I can bearly get through one song before my hands are hurting so bad I cant play anymore. So I will probably coninue to do the shorter open mikes until I am back up to playing longer. Thanks for everyone's concern. *************************************************

Hi Everybody!
You probably thought I had left the planet, but Im still here..since my last concert at the Next Door, I have been singing at various open mikes around the area and trying to get into other venues (other than the christian coffeehouses)...I havent been putting these open mikes on my website since usually I just do 3 or 4 songs and I really dont know the exact time I will be on stage...However, I will be doing a benefit at the HAAM Songfest (Houston Area Acoustic Musicians) on Saturday, December 3. I will only be doing 15 minutes at this show but this will be a great show to go to if you like acoustic music. There will be about 30 acoustic artists from 4pm to midnight. I will be going on stage at 7:45pm (this time is tentative and could change). It will be at the Cosmos Cafe at 69 Heights Blvd in downtown Houston (www.cosmoshouston.com). The admission is a $5 per person donation at the door and this will benefit Youth Music Education and HAAM Folk Alliance. The performers who have cd's will have them available at the concert. After the concert at the D'upper Room on May21, Monte was approached by a representative of Outboundmusic.com, Dan Park. "Mr.Dan", as he is called, is an internet radio host for 5 internet radio stations on www.outboundmusic.com. He spends a lot of his time checking out new, unsigned artists, to recommend to outboundmusic.com. He came to the concert at the D'upper room after looking at this website and deciding he wanted to hear what the music of Monte Ray Fogle was all about. Outboundmusic.com is a promoter and distributer of unsigned artists cd's and other merchandise. They are similar to others like cdbaby.com except that they do not accept everyone and they require quality music. When accepted, the artist and his cd's will be promoted on their website and their internet radio stations. Mr. Dan told Monte that he should submit his cd to Outboundmusic.com for their consideration and to tell them that he (Mr. Dan) had sent him. Well, to make a long story longer, Monte was offered to sign with Outboundmusic.com for promotion of his music and cd. Monte is in the final stages of making this happen and in a short time, Monte will be featured at www.outboundmusic.com with other fine artists
From all indications, the concert at the D'upper Room Coffeehouse on May 21 was a great success. The estimates of the crowd size by some of those in attendance was between 150-200. There were parking problems and we are still hearing from those who just couldn't find a place to park and could not get in. Many cd's were sold at the concert so "the journey has begun".Thanks to my ole buddy, Kenny Martin, owner of the D'upper Room, for letting me play. Thanks to my daughter,Rachel Hardy, "Taco" Romero, and Noah Coffelt for lending their talents to some of the tunes on stage. Thanks to my "roadie" son-in-law, Jessie Hardy, for the hard work on striking the set for me after the concert.Thanks to son-in-laws, Stephen Allison and Seth Westmoreland, on camera duty on saturday, trying to whittle down their debts for taking my daughters away from me. And thanks to all in attendance for coming to the concert, especially my high school crowd buddies.
