Welcome! You have reached the page reserved for pastors, ministers, evangelists, and other lay ministers. I felt the need to create this page to inform those in the ministry of this "ministry". You notice that I use quotes around the word "ministry". That is because most in the church would not look at this as a ministry on the surface. The music is not overtly "Christian" in what we think of as "Christian music". Its not worship or praise music for the most part although there are definitely some worshipful songs. And its probably not what you would normally hear on the local Christian radio station or the local Christian concert. But I would like to characterize it as "music of the world with a message of the Kingdom". Why would someone create music like this? Well, it is easy for me to see and I hope it is for you too. The truth is that most of the unredeemed world are not listening to "Christian" music. They are not hearing it in our churches. They are not listening to Christian radio or going to Christian concerts. And they are not buying Christian CDs because they dont know who the artists are. Sure, there are some that are, and there are some who are brought to church and concerts by their friends who are hearing it. Most of the world is hearing "their" music somewhere else. And a lot of that music is exuding everything else but positive Christian values and truth.
My purpose is to bring the Christian faith, its apologetics, its answers, its truths, its Savior, to the world outside the church. I believe this can be done through music that the world listens to with a message from the Kingdom. And between the songs and the accompanying dialogue (or,monologue, if you will), I believe that those who have never heard the gospel while hear it and have a better grasp of the truth that we already know.
While I spent 27 years being a street cop in Houston, I saw the great need to be a light in the darkness to those without hope who had not heard the truth. I was able to witness to literally hundreds who were in dire need of a Savior while at work.
During this same time I started a Younglife club at our local high school and was affiliated with Younglife for 15 years as I spoonfed high school folks the gospel year after year. I learned in Younglife that music was the "hook" and I have tried to pattern this ministry after what I learned from doing ministry in Younglife.
Hopefully, through my songs, one could, subtley, learn that there is a God, Jesus is God and He proved it, man is separated from God by sin, Jesus died to repair our relationship with God and give us eternal life. All of these things given in their own music in a neutral setting is a recipe for evangelism to those who have not stepped inside the church. And I think this music covers the generations from teenagers to the 60s.
So, I give you, the minister, this information for the purpose of making available to you an evangelistic concert program that could be used in an event you plan outside the normal church setting, in a neutral, non-threatening venue, wherever or whatever that may be. The object would be to get those outside the church in your community to hear the gospel.Church folks could use this as an opportunity to get family, friends, or neighbors who they can't get to go to church to come to a non-threatening family-type free concert at a neutral, non-threatening, come-as-you-are, comfortable location. At the end of the concert, the audience could be informed that your church body sponsored the concert and they could be directed to your worship times the next day in which another mini-concert could be performed and a special evangelistic program planned for that day. Or there could just be a short time at the end of the concert for somebody to come and give a quick explanation of what it is to accept Christ and then offer counseling after the concert. Theres a million ways this could be done in various venues. This is just a couple of ideas. Now some of you may have other ideas in mind about how this format could be used in an evangelistic way. This is just a couple of ideas about how it could be used that I can think of right off the top of my head but Im open for "whatever" as long as unchurched folks are hearing the gospel.
If any of this rings true to you and you feel this is something you would like to do, then please contact me. By the way, this ministry is not really one that would primarily do a "praise" type service although I can do that and would especially like to do youth meetings but I really want these things to be evangelistic in nature and not just to be "entertaining" Christians. I would appreciate your comments and your prayers. In His love, Monte
